Introduction

I have been working as an Oracle analyst for 7 years. Right from the beginning I started teaching myself SQL (and later PL/SQL). I primarily have worked on the functional side, but I enjoy my job the most when faced with a challenging query.

My greatest resource in learning SQL has been the Internet. Beyond learning the language, it has taught me the structures of the EBS tables and how they relate to each other. I have created many very complicated queries in my career, but many times the best solution to a problem has already been discovered and may just need some minor tweaks. I am happy to spend a whole day or even two creating a new SQL script, but my users are even happier when I get the task done in a couple hours because I know how to use Google.

Last summer I took a job as an analyst on a Fusion Cloud implementation. The learning curve is a bit high. Almost a year latter I am now flying around as quickly as EBS. One of the things I have found is that the documentation, blogs, SQL examples are far less developed than EBS.

One of the more pleasant surprises on the financial side is that much of the table structure from EBS is intact in Fusion. There are however differences and I have decided to publish the queries I have for Fusion, hopefully others will find this as useful as I have found other's sites
